Marlin is a graduate of Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa and has been in the accounting industry for over 30 years with experience in all facets of the accounting business.
His career began with Charles Bailly & Company, CPA’s (now known as Eide Bailly), and then continued his work experience as a Director of Finance for KELOLAND TV and the Sanford Health Foundation. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, South Dakota CPA Society, and the society’s Non-Practice Advisory Council.

Following graduation, Kara was employed at POET, LLC for nearly 5 years before joining Van Peursem CPA. While working at POET, Kara prepared monthly financials, forecasts, and daily Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable tasks.

After completing an internship with Eide Bailly, LLP as an audit intern, he joined forces with his Dad to help start Van Peursem CPA. After four successful years, he will begin a new adventure with Poetice International as the Director of Operations in west Michigan, but will continue to stay involved with Van Peursem CPA.
